The Udupi Shri Krishna Matha is a famous Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Krishna and Dvaita Matha located in the city of Udupi in Karnataka, India. The Matha area resembles a living ashram, a holy place for daily devotion and living. Surrounding the Shri Krishna Matha are several temples known as the Udupi Anantheshwara Temple. The temple is considered one of the holiest pilgrimage sites in Southern India. ಉಡುಪಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಕೃಷ್ಣ ಮಠವು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಉಡುಪಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧ ಹಿಂದೂ ದೇವಾಲಯವಾಗಿದೆ. ಇದು ಮಧ್ವಾಚಾರ್ಯರು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿದ ದ್ವೈತ ಮತದ ಕೇಂದ್ರವಾಗಿದೆ. ಈ ಮಠವು ಒಂದು ಜೀವಂತ ಆಶ್ರಮದಂತೆ ಭಾಸವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ, ಇಲ್ಲಿ ನಿತ್ಯ ಪೂಜೆ ಮತ್ತು ಭಕ್ತರ ಸಮಾಗಮವಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಕೃಷ್ಣ ಮಠದ ಸುತ್ತಲೂ ಉಡುಪಿ ಅನಂತೇಶ್ವರ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಹಲವಾರು ದೇವಾಲಯಗಳಿವೆ. ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಭಾರತದ ಪವಿತ್ರ ಯಾತ್ರಾ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇದು ಒಂದಾಗಿದೆ.
Sri Madhwacharyaಶ್ರೀ ಮಧ್ವಾಚಾರ್ಯರು
The Krishna Matha was founded by the Vaishnavite saint Jagadguru Sri Madhwacharya in the 13th century. He was the founder of the Dwaita school of Vedanta. It is believed that Madhwacharya found the idol of Sri Krishna in a large ball of Gopichandana (holy sandalwood). As per the legends, the idol was originally worshipped by Rukmini, the wife of Lord Krishna, in Dwarka. ಶ್ರೀ ಕೃಷ್ಣ ಮಠವನ್ನು 13ನೇ ಶತಮಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ವೈಷ್ಣವ ಸಂತ ಜಗದ್ಗುರು ಶ್ರೀ ಮಧ್ವಾಚಾರ್ಯರು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿದರು. ಅವರು ದ್ವೈತ ಸಿದ್ಧಾಂತದ ಪ್ರತಿಪಾದಕರು. ಮಧ್ವಾಚಾರ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಶ್ರೀ ಕೃಷ್ಣನ ವಿಗ್ರಹವು ಗೋಪಿಚಂದನದ ಉಂಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ದೊರೆಯಿತು ಎಂದು ನಂಬಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಐತಿಹ್ಯಗಳ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, ಈ ವಿಗ್ರಹವನ್ನು ದ್ವಾರಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಕೃಷ್ಣನ ಪತ್ನಿ ರುಕ್ಮಿಣಿಯು ಪೂಜಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಳು.
Kanakana Kindiಕನಕನ ಕಿಂಡಿ
A unique feature of the temple is that the deity is worshipped through a silver-plated window with nine holes (Navagraha Kindi). It is known as Kanakana Kindi. Legend has it that Lord Krishna gave darshan to his ardent devotee, Kanakadasa, through this window when he was denied entry into the temple due to caste restrictions. The idol turned to face the west to bless Kanakadasa, and to this day, the deity faces west. ಈ ದೇವಾಲಯದ ವಿಶೇಷತೆಯೆಂದರೆ, ಭಕ್ತರು ದೇವರ ದರ್ಶನವನ್ನು ನವಗ್ರಹ ಕಿಂಡಿ ಎಂದು ಕರೆಯಲ್ಪಡುವ ಬೆಳ್ಳಿ ಕಿಟಕಿಯ ಮೂಲಕ ಪಡೆಯುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಇದನ್ನು ಕನಕನ ಕಿಂಡಿ ಎಂದು ಕರೆಯಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಜಾತಿ ತಾರತಮ್ಯದ ಕಾರಣ ಕನಕದಾಸರಿಗೆ ದೇವಾಲಯ ಪ್ರವೇಶ ನಿರಾಕರಿಸಿದಾಗ, ಶ್ರೀ ಕೃಷ್ಣನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ದರ್ಶನ ನೀಡಲು ಪಶ್ಚಿಮಕ್ಕೆ ತಿರುಗಿದನು ಎಂಬ ಪ್ರತೀತಿಯಿದೆ. ಈಗಲೂ ದೇವರ ವಿಗ್ರಹವು ಪಶ್ಚಿಮಾಭಿಮುಖವಾಗಿಯೇ ಇದೆ.
